Liminality

Still getting this art block so I looked up a prompt on Magatsu.

Prompt: Prepare a piece in a conceptual style. Using dark colors, evoke a sense of liminality and place the subject in neon-lit streets.

Had to look up the definition of liminality to understand the prompt.  Apparently it has to do with gaining a rite of passage by sacrificing social status and abiding by doctrines of dress, conduct etc; basically initiating your place in society by inducing a total sense of anonymity on yourself.  

The mask represents his submission to conformity.  The scarf represents his coming defiance of it.
