So you see what had happened was

You can thank RootrotTheFirst.  Yes.  I am throwing names out there.  If you want somebody to consult on the degree of corniness regarding the joke, you can kindly confront Adam.  Because he's the one that came up with it.

The initial suggestion was to make this "badass" like this, but when the pun was brought up I saw the opportunity for comic art, which is something I've never tried digitally before.  I've incorporated monologue into my art in other ways, but never dialogue.  With speech bubbles and stuff.  And I spent like a hundred or something dollars on Manga Studio a while ago and it was time to put it to some use.

So yeah this was a very important learning experience.  Took me forever because I was so slow to get the vague gist of how to do this kind of ish.  And also I lost a lot of progress at some point so there's that.

ANYHOO, this is a ten-day-late celebration of the Fourth of July with the characters from my (right now, unnamed) allegory that explores the presidential administrations, starting with the Found Fathers era.   The characters go by the same names of the figure that they represent (so, John Adams, left, is represented by John Adams, etc), but they often go by different pseudonyms/nicknames.  For example, Thomas Jefferson (center) goes by Jeff.  Benjamin Franklin (right) goes by Benny or sometimes Frankie.

The events in this comic are representative of the finalization of the Deceleration of Independence by three of the Committee of Five (comprised of Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, Sherman, and Livingston who were all assigned to oversee the reproduction of the approved text), the document that the American colonies agreed on to state in writing to Britain exactly why they were tired of their crap.  July Fourth celebrates the adoption by the Continental Congress of such an important passage.  JUST SO YOU KNOW, the Declaration was not signed on July Fourth.  It was mostly signed on August Second, but several delegates would end up signing even later.

I cried after the fireworks.  Ahh I juST LOVE AMERICA. :iconcryforeverplz:
